Logging in to the Test Environment as a Customer is Not Possible

Error Description

Logging in to customer accounts in the test environment is not possible. 

Error message: "Your access data could not be assigned to a user".


Cause

StageWare’s default settings ® are configured to mask the email addresses of customers with the prefix "stage_". This prevents the test environment from accidentally sending an email to a customer. At the same time, however, this also means that the modified email address has to be used when logging in.


Solution

Use the masked email address logging in to the shop’s frontend.

Example: name@domain.de becomes stage_name@domain.de


Please Note

The original (unchanged) email addresses are used when creating a backup. If you import the backup of a test environment into your live shop, then the email addresses are not masked.
