Test Environment Not Working

Error Description

You have created a test environment but can’t use it.

Cause

The cause cannot be determined in general. There could be many reasons for this. Check to see if there is a solution to your specific problem.

Solutions

Disable maintenance mode

By default, StageWare® automatically activates the maintenance mode for test environments so that search engines and visitors don’t have access.

Test environment is faulty: test by creating test environment again

StageWare® influences your live system as little as possible, so it can still be accessed by visitors while a test environment is being created. However, in rare cases, errors may occur during the copying process.

Before an error can be investigated by you or us, try creating the test environment again to ensure that the error can be reproduced and was not a one-time problem..

Test environment not found

If your test environment is not accessible (e.g. error 404), please try to re-create the test environment first (see above). If you are redirected to the live system, please keep reading.

Test environment redirects to live system

If you are redirected to the live system while trying to access a test environment, please try to re-create the test environment first (see above).

From a technical standpoint, access to the test environment is "passed through" the live system. If there are certain server configurations or instructions in the live system’s .htaccess file the test environment may not be accessible.

This is usually not a StageWare® error (exception: test environment is not set up correctly/completely). Please talk to your technical service provider or internet agency.

If you use NGINX as web server you need a special configuration: Hosting Provider and Server Configurations Hostin Provider and Server Configurations
