6 Competent market surveillance authority

For Germany

The federal states are currently setting up a joint body to fulfil the tasks of the Accessibility Reinforcement Act.

The Market Surveillance Authority of the Federal States for the Accessibility of Products and Services (MLBF) is to commence work as a new institution under public law in Saxony-Anhalt, in the state capital Magdeburg, on 28 June 2025. The prerequisite for this is the ratification of the state treaty on the fulfilment of tasks in accordance with the Barrier-Free Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) by all federal states.
